Please join us at Blarney Stone in Oak Forest on Friday night, November 18 from 7-10PM. We will be performing in honor of two interventional cardiology colleagues, Dr. Joaquim Barboza and Dr. David Cohen. They are both moving on at the end of the year. This is our opportunity to acknowledge their hardworking and celebrate with the before they leave. Call to reserve a table.
We had a blast playing for the Naperville Rotary’s 80s Night Fundraiser. Great organization raising money for a number of causes. We played a mostly 80’s set that brought back a lot of memories for most of us (at least those of us who were alive in the 80s!)
We had a very busy weekend and wish to thank everyone who came out to support us at both Blarney Stone on Saturday night and Cross of Glory Lutheran church Sunday afternoon.
We also want to thank Rog and Luay who were both ailing this weekend. Unbeknownst to the band until after we finished the gig Saturday night, Rog had not been feeling well beginning the night before and extending through the gig. He worked rounding on his hospital patients most of Saturday before joining us at Blarney Stone. We didn’t know for sure until late the following morning if he was going to be able to perform at the church gig.
In addition, Luay is in a cycle of working 4 out of 5 weekends. Luay was also dealing with tendinitis during the entire week. He didn’t miss a single note!
Music is a great passion for us. Kudos to everyone in the band for taking time away from friends and family to prepare and perform and to Jeff for finishing Sundays gig to then drive directly to work in the icu.
For those of you who need a double dose of The Interlopers, we have a second show next weekend. After playing at Blarney Stone Saturday night, August 6th, we will be doing a family friendly show at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, 14719 W 163rd Street in Homer Glen
Show is 2-5P, Sunday, August 7th. It’s free. BYOB. Brats and Dogs on the grill. Bring a lawn chair
For anyone planning to come out to Blarney Stone next Saturday night, Please call the bar and reserve a table. We’re planning on being outside. They have asked us to remind you to call and make a table reservation so they know how any tables to set up
We are pleased to announce a couple upcoming gig dates. With 4 band members having different call schedules, it’s a challenge to find nights when one of us is not on call and we’re all free to perform! We all love listening to and performing music and are very excited to have these opportunities to play live.
Please join us at:
Joe Daniels Eatery and Pub on Friday night June 24
We are saddened to announce that Flo has decided to leave The Interlopers. She was our original bassist and is a very talented vocalist. She brought tremendous energy and excitement to the band and is truly unreplaceable. She will always be part of our Interloper family and we wish her well. We will also miss seeing her son and husband who are both outstanding musicians themselves. Very talented family! Hopefully, our paths will continue to intersect in the future
We are delighted to announce that Jeff Mitchell has joined the band as our new bassist. He has been practicing with us for the last several weeks and we are getting him up to speed on our song list. We are looking forward to having Jeff on stage with us!
Jeff and Luay
Here’s a preview of a new cover we just started featuring Jeff on bass.
The Interlopers wish to thank all those who came out in the freezing, windy and snowy Friday night to see us at The Blarney Stone. We had a great time seeing everyone and want to also thank the whole crew at Blarney Stone for providing us this opportunity!
Don’t let the time change and rainy weather spoil your day. Start the weekend off with great food, drinks, dancing and music provided by yours truly, The interlopers. Hope to see you there. Show starts around 7
We had a blast playing at The Blarney Stone on August 13th. Great crowd!. we enjoyed the venue, food and drinks. It’s a pleasure to see everyone having a great time

(Thanks to all who provided cell phone video from our gig at Joe Daniels)
The Interlopers wish to thank all of you who came out to see us perform a Joe Daniels last Friday and also want to thank Doug for inviting us. We had a great time! This was our first live performance since just before the world shut down for covid.
Looking forward to seeing you at The Blarney Stone in Oak Forest on Friday August 13 starting at 7 pm.
Some of us have already received our first vaccine injection. Not only is this the beginning of the end of the pandemic but we can now see a light at the end of the tunnel for us to regroup in person, start practicing together and plan some gigs!
Like most, we’ve been dealing with our own personal COVID issues over the last several months. Luckily, none of has become ill but we’ve been taking precautions to limit our own personal exposure and decrease the likelihood of inadvertently infecting others. We’ve been anxious to get together to play music so we decided to have an outdoor practice allowing us to play together while social distancing. It was a blast. We hope to do it again very soon and look forward to playing in public once the current crisis is controlled and there is an efficacious vaccine.
We are continuing to follow the guidelines set forth by our Governor and Mayor for social distancing and staying safe during this crazy time. We feel fortunate to have had an opportunity to perform in early March just before the pandemic broke. We haven’t been together as a group since then. The South side of Chicago has been hit particularly hard by the pandemic. Rog, Luay and Tom have seen their fair share of very sick COVID19 patients and we are all ready for this nightmare to pass. Everyone is doing their part to stay safe, support the local economy as much as possible and support our families and friends. Lots of impromptu Zoom and FaceTime calls! We’re very anxious to start practicing together again and to get back out there when it is safe to do so.
We have enjoyed following several prominent musicians on facebook and you tube who have been sharing home videos with the public and working hard to keep everyones spirits up. Rog, Luay and Tom decided to do a quick video to Bella Ciao-featured prominently in the Netflix series Money Heist. If you haven’t seen it, we highly suggest giving it a look!
We each recorded our parts on our iPhones separately and then synced the videos (as best we could!) using Final Cut Pro. Hope you enjoy our video!!
We would like to express our gratitude to the Women of Service League for providing us the opportunity to play at their annual fundraising event. The gala raised tens of thousands of dollars for local charities. Thanks to all the sponsors and restaurants. The food selections were outstanding!
We are very excited to play at this years Taste of the Region event sponsored by the Service League of Northwest Indiana! This is a great fundraising event featuring food from dozens of local restaurants, open bar, silent auction and musical entertainment. This is Service League’s primary fundraising event. Every year the women of Service League raise tens of thousands of dollars for local charities and organizations. You have to buy a ticket in advance but it’s worth it. Singer Blake Alexander will be entertaining from 7-830 followed by speeches and silent auction. We go on around 930 until 11pm.
It’s pretty hot already today. We were hoping to play outside but the asphalt out there is already heating up. To keep everything ‘cool’, we’ll be inside in the main bar area
